چکیده

We propose the application of volume holography to fourdimensional (4-D) spatiospectral imaging. The proposed systems use materials and techniques developed for holographic data storage and interconnections to capture three-dimensional (3-D) spatial and one-dimensional (1-D) spectral information about a remote light source or scatterer. We analyze case studies of simple architectures using spherical-reference volume holograms as imaging elements in a fluorescence confocal microscope arrangement and demonstrate the equivalence of the holographic degeneracies with a slicing operation on the reconstructing incoherent source. We develop a general theoretical framework for the diffraction of random fields from volume holograms and show that the formulation can be used as an imaging design tool. Applications and future directions are also discussed.

Tomographic three-dimensional imaging of a biological specimen using wavelength-scanning digital interference holography.

The principle of wavelength-scanning digital interference holography is applied to three-dimensional imaging of a small biological specimen. The images are reconstructed from a number of holograms digitally recorded while the wavelengths are varied at regular intervals, and the numerical interference of the multiple three-dimensional hologram fields results in tomographic images with narrow axi...

Wavelength-scanning digital interference holography for tomographic three-dimensional imaging by use of the angular spectrum method.

A tomographic imaging system based on wavelength-scanning digital interference holography is developed by applying the angular spectrum method. Compared to the well-known Fresnel diffraction formula, which is subject to a minimum distance requirement in reconstruction, the angular spectrum method can reconstruct the wave field at any distance from the hologram plane. The new system allows three...

Compact and Cost-effective Lensless Tomographic On-chip Microscope

We present a field-portable lens-free optical tomographic microscope, which enables sectional-imaging of a large sample volume (~20 mm) with an axial-resolution of <7 μm. This platform, weighing ~110 grams, employs cost-effective lightemitting diodes and an optoelectronic sensor array to record in-line projection holograms of objects placed on a sensor-chip along different directions of illumin...

Microscopic three-dimensional imaging by digital interference holography

Digital interference holography (DIH) is being developed as a novel method of microscopic 3-D imaging. A number of holographic fields are numerically calculated from optically recorded holograms using a range of wavelengths. Numerical superposition of these fields results in a tomographic representation of the object with narrow axial resolution. We demonstrate the practicality of DIH in micros...
